Your apprenticeship as electrical engineer
Nothing runs without electricity, so you're in demand with us. Responsible for the electrical installations of the plants, it is important to properly assemble and wire the control cabinets and then check for correctness to ensure proper operation.
Your tasks as an electrical engineer
- Reading of production drawings, circuit diagrams and circuit diagrams. Partial preparation of such plans
- Electrical installation of components, assemblies
- Commissioning of electrical systems
- Troubleshooting and fault rectification
- Switch cabinet construction
Your apprenticeship as mechanical engineer
With the apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer at ÖSWAG, you as an apprentice have access to a particularly wide range of different departments and their products, as well as a wide range of further training.
After the basic training, the apprentices are assigned to the selected departments.
Depending on the interest of the apprentice and the respective vocational school course, the best possible attempt is made to give the apprentice an insight into each department.
With us you have the chance to get to know a wide variety of products, from the raw part to the detail of the finished product.
The main stations in the training are in ÖSWAG Maschinenbau: the frame construction, the light steel construction, the vehicle construction.
The main stations in the training are in the ÖSWAG shipyard: shipbuilding and equipment. After a training period of 3.5 years, you will be an absolutely versatile all-rounder as a mechanical engineer.
Your tasks as a mechanical engineer
- Reading production drawings
- Assembly and commissioning of individual assemblies, machines and plants
- Repair, troubleshooting and service of equipment and machinery
- Assembling steel structures
- Basic knowledge of welding technology
Your apprenticeship as a welding technician
Welding technicians work throughout the store and are responsible for joining material parts using a variety of welding methods.
We use the following welding methods: MIG (metal inert gas), MAG (metal active gas), TIG (tungsten inert gas), submerged arc welding, electrode welding and stud welding.
Your tasks as a welding technician
- Selection of the appropriate welding process
- Application of the different welding methods
- Setting the correct welding parameters on the welding machine
- Reading of production drawings and welding plans
- Detection and correction of welding defects
Your apprenticeship as machining technician
Machining technicians are responsible for the mechanical processing of components in our company. Production takes place on our state-of-the-art turning, milling and grinding machines.
Your tasks as a machining technician
- Machining of components on the basis of production drawings
- Programming CNC machine tools
- Selection and configuration of suitable tools
- Dimensional control of the manufactured components
